Yesterday we started our time together by singing 'Father Abraham had many sons' and 'If I were a Butterfly' - both songs having loads of actions. Then we continued looking at EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE IS SPECIAL and there is a reason God made us. Last week we looked at bugs like snails and slugs, but yesterday the young people took part in the BIG BUTTERFLY COUNT. As it was overcast, we really had to search, but managed to see 2 butterflies in the church garden. Lots of bees though. We then went back to our room and planted Buddleia plants - better known as the Butterfly plant. On Sunday we spoke about how everything God made was made for a reason and every living creature and person is special cause God knows them by name. The children then painted a butterfly, ladybug, Toucan or Koala to take home. They also went out into the garden with their own little bug catchers and looked for slugs and snails and woodlice which they were able to look at closely through a magnifying glass. Think we decided snails were really precious to God cause He made over 160 000 types of snails. Last Sunday's service, when we were looking forward to uniting in a wider circuit fellowship, came to mind this morning. The Mens' Breakfast at Viewfield Baptist Church, at which several with Rosyth connections wiere present, enjoyed a talk during which we listened to a video that focussed on our coming together in Christ, celebrating both diversity and unity.
