Lent, which starts early this year, is a season of reflection in which we consider the many ways we fall short of God’s plan for our lives and prepare our hearts and minds for the glory of Easter. Christians have traditionally observed Lent as a time of special prayer, study or spiritual discipline, and we welcome you to join our series of meetings about Church life, led by our Interim Rector, the Very Rev Jim Mein, and being held in the Church Hall at Holy Trinity, Dunfermline from 7.30pm to 9.00pm on Tuesdays from 19 February. Also starting at 7.30pm are an Ecumenical Lent Study Group, meeting on Mondays from 18 February at St Columba’s Church, Torridon Lane, using the study material “Finding Nourishment”, and on Thursdays from 28 February a study at the manse entitled “Living Thessalonians”. More details about all of these in Contact

And you can also reflect on-line: the Diocese of Bristol are providing a series of daily Lenten reflections that harnesses the wisdom, inspiration and prayerfulness of a variety of different members, each of whom has contributed a short reflection on a Bible passage to make up a series of 40 thought-provoking perspectives to ponder each weekday between Ash Wednesday and Holy Saturday. You can sign up for ‘Forty Voices’ at this link.

If action rather than reflection is your style, then you can give thanks and celebrate the good things in your life this Lent with the thought-provoking “Count Your Blessings” calendar and the other resources from Christian Aid.
